Highsoft is committed to protecting your privacy. Any and all information collected is safeguarded according to the highest privacy and data protection standards adopted worldwide. This privacy policy provides information on how we handle your privacy rights and content ownership as well as all other information that is collected about Highcharts Cloud, it’s usage and users.

Information we collect

Highsoft is strongly committed to protecting your information and ensuring that your choices are honored.

When you register for Highcarts Cloud we collect information which is offered by your openid provider, such as your name and email address. Highsoft use this information to be able to provide our service, for identification and authorization of users, and to be able to contact you. The information we collect is not shared with other organisations except as detailed below for the provisioning and improvement of our service. The data we collect will never be sold to third parties for commercial purposes.

Highcharts Cloud use cookies, which is a small amount of data stored by your web browser on your computer. The cookie stores your current session and allows you to stay logged in. Cookies are required to use the Highcharts Cloud.

Security

Access to your account is authenticated by an openid provider and will always use the https protocol for transferring user credentials from the openid provider. This means that your user credentials are always safely encrypted.

Content uploaded to Highcharts Cloud for making charts is encrypted as it is using the https protocol. We make use of a third party vendor (Recurly, see third-party service integration) for purchasing licenses for Highcharts Cloud. We do not store any information on credit cards on Highcharts Cloud as this is handled by Recurly. When you supply creditcard information on the profilepage this is send directly to Recurly and will not pass Highcharts Cloud.

Ownership of content

Highsoft acknowledges and agrees that the data sets and charts you upload and make, are remaining your property.

Third-Party Service Integration

To run Highcharts Cloud we use a number of third-party services, Highsoft is not responsible for the actions of these third parties, including their privacy practices and any content posted on their web sites.

In order to use Highcharts Cloud you need to register through an openID provider, such as Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, and others. Hereby you allow basic user credentials send to Highcharts Cloud such as email address and username.

We use a third party vendor, Recurly, to store and process credit card transactions. Recurly adheres to the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) for Service Providers. Your email address, credit card details and billing address are passed on to Recurly and are not stored with Highsoft. Read more about Recurly here: https://recurly.com/security

We use Google Analytics to track usage of the charts created with the Highcharts Cloud. The primary reason for this is to understand our customers and improve our service and offerings. We are not sharing this log file information or selling such information. We reserve the right to use portions or aggregated numbers for marketing, presentations, though never by disclosing personal information about you without your consent.

Your obligations

You are entitled to review the personal information you have provided us and ensure that it is accurate and current at all times. You need to make sure that data you upload is free to use or that you have specific rights to use this data for publication. Highsoft is not responsible for your content, however remain the right to exclude users and remove inappropriate charts and data and may result in immediate termination of your Highcharts Cloud account.

Exclusions

The privacy policy covers your personal data, but not the content you create and publish through the platform, such as charts that you embed on a public website. We reserve the right to display selected charts on our public gallery for promotional services, though always by naming the source of these visualizations. You are free to make your charts private, and un such event we cannot display your charts in public.

Legal requirements

We might need to disclose personal data of users based on requirements by law. This might result in legal obligations or urgent needs to suspend or block an account. In such an event we will aim to notify the user that is affected by such actions.
